Measure the space, then think in A4 sheets: an A2 covers four, an A1 eight and an A0 sixteen, which is 84.1 × 118.9 cm for the largest. The price follows the same logic, each size costing double the one before, for the print as for the paper. For a non-standard size, see the “Actual size” option.
A colour A0 poster on 200 g photo paper, glossy or matt, costs €48, €56 or €64 incl. VAT. The paper accounts for €40; the rest, €8, €16 or €24, is the print, which depends on how much of the sheet is covered in ink. On 120 g paper, the same poster comes to €14, €22 or €30, and on standard 80 g paper, you only pay for the print.
Upload the photo as a JPG, a PNG or inside a PDF, then choose A2, A1 or A0. Glossy 200 g photo paper is already selected; matt 200 g, at the same price, avoids the shine. An iPhone photo in HEIC format cannot be read by the site: convert it to JPEG or PDF, or change the setting on your device.
The site does not check the resolution, and the preview, shown small, does not reveal blur. Do the maths: a 12-megapixel photo, i.e. 4000 × 3000 pixels, placed on a landscape A0 keeps only about 90 pixels per inch, and zooming in to reframe it stretches it further. For reference, an A0 at 300 pixels per inch is 9933 × 14043 pixels.
It stays rolled from the plotter all the way to you, without ever being folded. In Tournai, choose “In-store pickup” in the basket: it is free, and an email will tell you when to come and collect it at Rue de l'Yser 11. If shipped, it travels rolled to your home or a pickup point, and the dispatch email contains the parcel tracking link.
Yes. Put the posters together in a multi-page PDF and upload it once. As soon as a page is added to the basket, from 1 to 99 copies, the shop offers to print another one and takes you back to the settings without a new upload. The next page inherits the size, colour, paper and number of copies: if it measures a different size, change it before adding it.
Yes, black and white printing costs half as much. A sale notice or a typographic poster, in black lettering on a white background, can stay in the first tier: €2 incl. VAT in A1, on standard 80 g paper. A colour photo switched to black and white keeps its tier, as the ink is measured on the colour image: with 75% or more coverage, in A0 it costs €12 for the print instead of €24.
A concert or flea market poster for the shop window, a travel photo to frame, the scientific poster for a conference or a thesis defence: in Tournai, Xtra Copy prints them on its large-format plotter, in colour or black and white. A2 measures 42 × 59.4 cm, A1 59.4 × 84.1 cm and A0 84.1 × 118.9 cm, which is four, eight and sixteen times the area of an A4 sheet. Associations, shopkeepers, party organisers, students at the university colleges and universities of Tournai and the surrounding region, from Mouscron to Mons: everyone orders here from their own file.
A poster goes on glossy 200 g photo paper by default. The paper menu also offers matt 200 g photo paper, a 120 g paper and standard 80 g paper. The last of these is included in the print price; the other three add a supplement per poster: €10, €20 and €40 in A2, A1 and A0 for photo paper, glossy or matt, and €1.50, €3 and €6 for the 120 g.
Besides the size and the choice of colour or black and white, the print is charged according to how much of the sheet the ink covers. A solid black or red background, a photo printed edge to edge: you will usually be at 75% or more, the highest tier. A few lines of text on a white background, such as a programme or a timetable, can stay below the 50% mark, and the middle tier takes everything else. Only white, or a shade very close to it, counts as bare paper: a cream, light grey or pastel background is counted as inked. The percentage is shown below the preview and follows each of your settings.
In colour, an A2 costs €2, €4 or €6 incl. VAT depending on the tier, excluding the paper supplement. An example: an A1 poster with 75% or more ink coverage, on glossy photo paper, comes to €32, that is €12 for the print and €20 for the paper. This total is shown before the poster goes into the basket.
Upload your poster as a PDF, JPG or PNG, up to 120 MB. A design prepared in A1, in Canva or in layout software, and exported to PDF without bleed opens directly on A1. With bleed, or at any other size, the file starts on A2: then choose the size yourself, and the image is scaled to the sheet without being distorted. The sheet follows the orientation of the image, so a photo taken in landscape comes out on a landscape sheet. That leaves the framing: enlarge the photo so that it covers the whole area, then shift it to keep a face in the centre or to place the horizon, with an eye on the preview of what will come out of the plotter.
For a non-standard size, the “Actual size” option prints a PDF at the dimensions of its page. The print is then charged in proportion to its area, with A2 as the reference. A photo, on the other hand, is read at 300 pixels per inch: 4000 × 3000 pixels give a print of about 34 × 25 cm, far from a poster. For a photo, then, stick to A2, A1 or A0.
A poster is never folded, as the fold would stay marked in the photo paper: it comes out rolled and, as long as the “Trim to size” box stays ticked, trimmed to its finished dimensions at no extra cost. Rolled, it can be collected free of charge from the shop at Rue de l'Yser 11, or sent by carrier, within Belgium and to 21 other European Union countries, to your home or to a pickup point depending on what the basket offers for your address, with shipping costs calculated before payment.
Your architectural plans have their own page, Plan printing, which can also return them folded to A4. A small A3 or A4 poster belongs under Colour copies, and leaflets to hand out under Flyer printing.
