How much is an A4 colour copy?
An A4 side printed in colour costs €0.30 incl. VAT from 1 to 99 sides, €0.25 from 100 to 199, €0.225 from 200 to 499, €0.18 from 500 to 999 and €0.16 from 1,000 to 2,499. Large volumes drop to €0.14 from 2,500 sides, €0.11 from 5,000 and €0.09 from 10,000. 80 gsm paper is included, and the exact amount is shown before payment.
How much does an A3 colour poster or board cost?
An A3 poster or board printed in colour costs €0.60 incl. VAT a side up to 49 sides, €0.50 from 50 to 99, €0.45 from 100 to 249 and €0.36 from 250, then less again at the following tiers. On 200 gsm satin, add €0.40 per A3 sheet: 30 single-page posters therefore come to €30.00, i.e. €18.00 of printing and €12.00 of paper.
Will I pay the colour rate for the black pages of my document?
No. Once your file is uploaded, the page shows how many of your pages are in colour and how many are in black, and that split is what you are charged: colour at the colour rate, the rest at the black & white rate. A page whose tint is too faint to be confirmed as colour is counted as black, so any doubt works in your favour.
Does double-sided printing lower the price of colour printing?
Not the printing price: each printed side is one side, charged according to what it carries, so a sheet with a chart on the front and black text on the back counts as one colour side and one black side. Double-sided, which is the default, does however use half as many sheets, which reduces the surcharge for paper thicker than 80 gsm, the lamination surcharge and the weight of a parcel.
Where do I collect my colour copies, and can you send them to me?
An email lets you know as soon as the order is ready in store, at Rue de l'Yser 11 in Tournai, where pickup is free, or as soon as it has been shipped, with the parcel tracking link. For delivery to your address or a pickup point, shipping costs depend on the parcel's weight and destination; they are shown before payment.
Which finishes are available for A3 or laminated colour copies?
In A3, stapling holds up to 25 sheets per copy, one A3 sheet counting as two A4 sheets, and no binding is offered in this format. A cover added to a stapled document must be 120 gsm. A laminated document cannot be punched, stapled, bound or given a cover. To bind a colour thesis, the Thesis printing page sets up perfect binding and a front and back cover from the start.
Can I print a PowerPoint or Word file in colour?
Yes, once you have saved it as a PDF: .docx and .pptx files are not accepted as they are. Each file can be up to 120 MB, and 450 MB in total. For a slideshow, grouping the slides cuts the bill considerably: 36 colour slides printed 4 per sheet fit on 9 sides, i.e. €2.70 incl. VAT, compared with €10.80 at one slide per side.
Is there a rate for people who print in colour often?
Yes. A colour subscription prepays copies, one A4 side being worth one copy and one A3 side two: 100 copies for €25, 200 for €45, 500 for €90, 1,000 for €160, up to 10,000 for €900. These copies first cover the current order, then the balance stays on your customer account. With 200 copies, each side costs you €0.225, even if you only print ten pages at a time.

Every page of your document is analysed one by one: only the pages that genuinely contain colour are charged at the colour rate, and the others stay at the black & white rate. Take a 40-page report with six pages of colour charts, printed one page per side: you pay for 6 sides at €0.30 and 34 sides at €0.05, i.e. €3.50 of printing instead of €12.00 if everything were charged as colour. A preview then shows you each page with the colour measured on it.
The colour rate is calculated per printed A4 side, incl. VAT, and goes down with volume: €0.30 up to 99 sides, €0.25 from 100, €0.225 from 200, then tier by tier down to €0.09 from 10,000 sides. The tier is set by the total number of colour sides, copies included: 10 copies of a 12-page colour document make 120 sides, so €0.25 a side and €30.00 of printing. In the cart, the colour sides of all your documents are added together to set this tier.
In A3, each side counts as two A4 sides, for both the price and the tier, which puts an A3 colour side at €0.60 for a small run. For a presentation, choose 2 or 4 pages per sheet: several slides then share the same side, which is charged as colour as soon as just one of them is.
80 gsm paper is included in the price of the copy. You can choose 120 gsm satin (+€0.10 per A4 sheet), 115 gsm gloss, the flyer paper (+€0.15), 200 gsm satin (+€0.20) or 250 gsm satin (+€0.50, A4 only). An A3 sheet counts as two for this surcharge. Lamination can be added to any of these papers, at €0.50 per A4 sheet, for a reference sheet or a table that has to last.
Two- or four-hole punching and stapling add nothing to the price; one or two staples are applied on 80 gsm paper, up to 50 A4 sheets per copy. In A4, you can instead have each copy bound with plastic rings (up to 400 sheets), metal rings (up to 120) or perfect binding (up to 300), from €1.50 to €4.50 depending on the type and thickness. A cover, on the front or on the front and back, is charged at the price of its paper, from €0.10 to €0.50 per A4 sheet.
Colour matters most when it carries meaning: a final-year thesis or an internship report full of charts and maps, an A3 course poster, the slides of a group presentation, the boards of an architecture project, the poster and programme for a student society party. If you print a little in colour every week, a prepaid subscription saves you paying the starting rate again on every small run.
